Important Upcoming Meeting Dates

This is certainly a busy fall season for political events, and the next several weeks are no exception, so if you've got money on your mind, put the following dates into your calendar.

In the immediate future, there's a Ward 5 town hall with Councillors Leanne Piper and Cathy Downer tomorrow night (Wednesday night) at 7 pm at St. Michael School at 9 McElderry Rd. Topics will include the city budget, changes to the Ontario Municipal Board, and another questions you might have.
Speaking of the budget, that process will start fairly productively next week. Here are the important dates to keep in mind (Hint: keep your Wednesdays free.)
October 26 – Non-tax-supported budget presentation to Council and public delegation (6 pm)
November 3 – Council deliberation and approval of non-tax-supported budget and capital budget presentation to Council (6 pm)
November 9 – Operating budget presentation to Council (6 pm)
November 16 – Local boards and shared services presentation to Council (6 pm)
November 23 – Presentation of recommended expansions and reductions (2 pm)
November 30 – Public delegation (6 pm)
December 7 – Council deliberations and approval (2 pm)
If that's not enough budget talk for you, MP Lloyd Longfield will be holding another one his town halls on Wednesday November 9 at 6:30 pm to discuss Pre-Budget Consultation. Like previous Longfield gatherings, this one will take place at the Italian Canadian Club at 135 Ferguson St. You can RSVP to lloyd.longfield@parl.gc.ca or click on Facebook.
