5th Annual guelPhonography Exhibit Looking for guelPhonographers

Reminder Guelphites: You can do more with your phone than collecting Pokemon. The fifth annual guelPhonography contest has begun, inviting all phone-wielding photogs to submit their pics of "the people, places, history, heritage, sports and spirit that make Guelph beautiful."

"guelPhonography starts online, and becomes a beautiful exhibit and community event. We love seeing how people use different apps and filters to create amazing digital images, and when they’re printed on wood, metal or plexiglass they really come to life." said guelPhonography organizer, Kim Lawrence.
Those interested in taking part can share their photos of the greater Guelph and Wellington County area by posting on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and Google+ by using the hashtag #guelphonography. For those that want to take part in the contest and submit to the physical exhibit in the fall, you got three chances by following the below rules.

  • Adults in Ontario can enter up to three photos in the contest.
  • Photos have to be taken in Guelph/Wellington using a mobile phone or tablet.
  • To submit a photo of someone, entrants must have the person’s permission.
  • Read full contest rules and details
  • Contest ends August 30

Are there prizes? Oh yeah! There will be To Be Determined prizes courtesy of various sponsors, and thanks to Photo Media Decor, everyone getting their photo exhibited will be allowed to keep their printed picture.
The exhibit of guelPhonography entries will be on display this year at The Bookshelf/eBar in October, with the official opening taking place on Saturday, October 1 from 6:30-8:00 pm; the contest winners will be announced at 7:30. After the exhibit's run at eBar it moves to Atmosphere Cafe + etc for November.
